Earth, 100 Million Years from Now

Earth was once a single supercontinent or a giant continent called Vaalbara.

Mainland on earth is not like that as we see today. Continent-continent that is in it is formed when the Earth's plates moving plates. They also broke away and collided with each other for very long periods of time.

According to the paleogeograf, about 3.1 billion years ago, the Earth was once a single supercontinent or a giant continent called Vaalbara. This continent was divided about 2.8 billion years ago and formed Kenorland, another giant continent.

As a result of tectonic plate movement that occur in Earth's crust, the continents were constantly moving and changing shape. Pangea, a very famous supercontinent own newly-formed about 300 million years ago.

Pangea itself then split about 100 million years later and formed the continents into the origin of the continents as we see today.

Here is a video that shows what the Earth for 600 million fine last year and what will happen to the Earth in 100 million years into the future. (Source: Ron Blakey, Professor of Geology, Northern Arizona University / YouTube)
