Survey: Just a Few Girls Like Ferrari

The survey of car ownership by gender conducted TrueCar Inc., found that five car brand with female buyers is less than 10 percent, namely Ferrari (6.4 percent), Lotus (7.2 percent), Lamborghini (7.4 percent), Maybach (8.0 percent), and Rolls Royce (9.3 percent).

TrueCar examined eight million people who are buying cars during 2010 in the United States. "But on the contrary, men tend to buy a car that 'muscular' and high-performance," said Vice President TrueCar Inc., Jesse Toprak, as quoted from TrueCar.com, recently.

In the study, the most hunted woman brand throughout 2010 is MINI (47.9 percent). Then followed by Kia (46.8 percent), and Honda (46.0 percent). "There are 15 brands with a ratio of more than 40 percent female," he said.

While the model with more than half of female buyers are Volkswagen New Beetle, Kia Spectra, Nissan Rogue, Volkswagen Eos, Hyundai Entourage, Volvo S40, Jeep Compass, the Honda CR-V, Nissan Sentra, and Hyundai Tucson.

Models with male customers above 50 percent is the Porsche 911, GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Corvette, Chevrolet Silverado, Ford F-Series, BMW M3, Ford Ranger, Toyota tundra, Dodge Ram, and the Audi S5.
