Factory conditions Japan Komatsu Tsunami

Japan's earthquake and tsunami effect on the delivery of heavy equipment to Indonesia.

PT United Tractors Tbk guarantee the supply of Komatsu heavy equipment brands over the next 2-3 months is sufficient. However, the supply of heavy equipment manufactured products from Japan is still constrained by the earthquake and tsunami a while back.

According Edhie, the earthquake and tsunami did affect the delivery of heavy equipment to Indonesia, especially for certain types produced in Japan. "But it is not only a Komatsu factory in Japan, there is also in Germany, Thailand, and America," he said.
He explained that the commitment to delivery of heavy equipment is still going to adjust to the time of delivery. Moreover, a number of factories are still in the process of revamping. "So, who disturbed only on the supply of heavy equipment manufactured in Japan. If from another country does not matter," he said.
Based on the written explanation submitted by management of United Tractors, heavy equipment supply company for 2-3 months remains unchanged.

1. Factory in Ibaraki
In a written explanation mentioned United Tractors Komatsu factory located in Ibaraki, Japan suffered damage. The plant that produces heavy equipment dump trucks and large-sized tires that are located in seaside areas.
However, the hard work done by the factory management and employees, manufacturing facilities are expected to immediately resume the operation in stages.
2. Factory in Koriyawa
Meanwhile, in Koriyawa factory, which manufactures hydraulic cylinders and components and is also situated close to the disaster area, suffered some damage. Now the problem related to gas supply, thus affecting the mobility of employees.
The supply of gasoline is expected to subside this week and plant operations are expected to soon return to normal.
3. The factory in Oyama
Furthermore, for a factory in Oyama, which produces engines and hydraulic components were damaged in the building and a number of facilities. The factory was also located near the disaster area. Nevertheless, the damage is relatively small compared to the factory in Ibaraki.
Damage can be recovered and has started manufacturing operations on March 18, 2011. However, the supply of electricity at the three plants could be an obstacle before it can come back in full production.
Meanwhile, the related condition of supply companies - especially for the procurement of spare parts and components - from around 200 suppliers, half suffered some damage.
Among them, about 30 suppliers suffered serious damage to some facilities. Komatsu is currently evaluating the damage and continue to support the efforts of suppliers to the recovery, in order to restore the supply of spare parts and components.
At the same time, Komatsu was also trying to find other alternative sources such as from other suppliers.
For transportation infrastructure, damage to the port of Hitachi Naka to disrupt shipping through the Komatsu product ships from the factory in Ibaraki. In addition, the road connecting the port factory in Ibaraki also suffered damage.
Reconstruction has already begun last week in one of the pier. It takes 1.5 to 2 months for Komatsu to begin making deliveries for export from the port of Hitachi Naka.
Currently, Komatsu was looking for an alternative port to send heavy equipment from the factory Hitachi Naka Ibaraki until recovery is complete.
