Commission of the European Union (EU) on Monday, March 28, 2011, introducing a long-term master plan for new transportation patterns in Europe. If completed, in 2050, the streets of Europe are free of cars and other motor vehicles.

Master plan is a plan to use a single transport on the European continent. This plan is intended to change the driving patterns of European citizens are expected to be gradually realized in 2050.

One of its main targets is to stop the gas emissions are driving climate change, targeting fuel use to zero percent. This means no more cars are allowed to roam the streets of Europe.

Siim Kallas, the EU transport commission, said that the EU will implement a new fuel tax that will force people to not use their cars and switch to alternative transportation.

"Then later there will be no conventional fuel cars passing in the center of town," said Kallas.

"This action will then be followed by regulations, and enforcement to change the habits of citizens," she added.

Not yet begun, this plan is getting opposition. UK Motorists Association (BDA) said the ban on cars in thethe streets plan is the economic disaster and restriction of mobility .

BDA spokesman, Hugh Bladon, saying that this is a crazy plan.

However, Kallas denied this EU plan would restrict the mobility of citizens or interfere with the European economy.
